Plot Breakdown

The Apartment is a puzzle-solving, 2D top-down pixelated game where the main character Zephr Wilds explores his apartment building as he notices he is stuck in a time loop where the apartment blows up at the end of every day. Hidden throughout the building are characters to talk to, puzzles to complete, and hints as to what might be going on. Do you have what it takes to escape the loop and save the apartment?

This game was created as a final project for a game development course.

Controls

  • WASD Keys: Standard player movement
  • E Key: Used to 'interact', i.e. talk to players, observe items/doors, and pick up items
  • Shift + '1 / 2': To drop/throw/give items in your first or second inventory slot
  • Click: Control elevator, dialogue progression, etc.
  • Drag: Fruit slicing, connecting wires

Extra Notes

  • Do not feel like you have to finish the game in one go. This game is not meant to work like that. Take as many iterations as you need.
  • One final note: It is recommended to have a pencil and paper next to you while you play. Or anything to keep track of information.
  • There is also an old-man neighbor in the game, who you can visit to ask questions andget customized hints to your game progress, powered by AI.
